"The Wedding"

Here are a couple from the wedding I did a couple weeks ago. What a CRAZY day! I have had tons of people ask if I shoot weddings and I usually say no just because my plate is too full already. I caved in for this wedding and I'm glad I finally did. I have lots of respect for wedding photographers now:)... a TON of work but lots of FUN too! These two love birds had a beautiful day and they were so sweet and fun to work with. I have about a billion more but you know me... I have OCD and have to post in order. So many people are waiting for their "sneak peeks" so I better move on and post the ones I have edited. Maybe more later:)

Oh my! This session was a blast. First of all the kids are gorgeous and second of all the Mom has the best style ever! I know my editing is all over the place, but once again each picture called for something different. When I edit the entire session they will be the same conversion (or a couple, because I can't decide) so that you can do a wall display. Hope you like!

Did you miss me? We just got back from a much needed vacation in Southern Cali. We spent half the time in Newport Beach with my cute Dad... Thanks for everything Dad:) and the second half in San Diego just the four of us. We had so much fun and I have way too many pics. I'm Back! Sorry for the long brake. I have tons of posts coming I promise. Check this little chickie out! It kills me how old she looks in these pictures. They grow up way too fast! Sophie is learning to LOVE the camera. We have had to work with her but I think she finally gave up... she knows the sooner she performs, the sooner she is done:) That little hand goes to the hip and she just works it. I have to be honest... this was a really quick session that we left feeling a tad bit discouraged. Kids were just not feeling it and Mom and Dad were exhausted as all parents with a newborn are:) We thought we would snap a few anyway and boy am I sooooo glad we did. I LOVE these and I hope you do to. Just look at this baby's eyes. Aren't they amazing! I'm sure you recognize this little girl. Halle is a big sister now and she is just too cute. I love these guys. I felt as if I had known them for years. They were so easy going and fun! The Dad was making me laugh so hard trying to get Deklin to smile, I could barely old my camera still. My favorite thing about Mila was her beautiful eyes. They were so big and the shape... just everything about them. She was a sweetheart too! I think she was a little weirded out by the whole experience, but she warmed up fast and let us do pretty much anything.

K... so I am in LOVE with this first picture! I so wish I could get one like this of my kids. It would be a 30x40 canvas in my house. To bad my kids NEVER cooperate! Someday when they maybe understand bribes:) One of these days I am going to find some time to figure out why my blog sucks color out. It drives me nuts!!! I loved photographing these kids. They were so much fun and their Mom was so nice. She let me do whatever I wanted so a lot of these pics might be a surprise to her. There are lots more. Just look at the way this baby bends. I had way too much fun with her. Normaly newborn sessions are pretty long because they need to eat and take little breaks here and there. For this little one though, it was becuase I could not stop taking pictures of her. I just kept saying ok, just one more thing. It was awsome that the parents were up for anything because I tried some new things too! Thanks.

Here are some more of our Curdz N' Whey shoot. These boys are WILD!!! There were like 10 of them at one point... Mindy (the owner of the store) and I were running around like chickens with our heads cut off. It was so much fun though and the shots we got are sweet! A lot of my clients have been going to Curdz N' Whey lately to get some awesome stuff for their urban pictures. A wild pair of baby legs and a rockin hat add the perfect touch! For the most gorgeous little family ever! I must say my family sure makes cute babies:) The Mom is these pictures is my cousin.... we were best friends all growing up and it was so much fun being able to take her daughter's pictures. That sounds so weird... I still can't believe we are Moms. You would think I would be used to it by now, I mean it's been four years. Okay so back to this beautiful baby! Her name is Brecklyn Cloey ( I know you are all thinking why didn't I think of that name) and she was just so precious. I could have packed her in my camera bag and taken her right home to my rowdy house. Also, these are on location with natural light. I usually use studio lights with newborns so these are just a tad bit different than what you are used to seeing on my blog. I think I might try more of these kind of sessions. It was super fun and I'm all about changing things up so I don't get too comfortable. Thanks for letting me capture your little angel and this special time in your life. Love you guys!

Would you ever believe that when Hank first came to the studio, he was not very happy and kind of unsure about the whole picture thing??? He warmed up in a matter of seconds and was probably one of the happiest babies I have ever shot! He had so many expressions and they were all so adorable! This little one was such an angel. His Momma had her belly pics a few weeks ago... it just amazes me how one day they are curled up inside of you and the next day you are holding them in your arms. Love this family... okay, they're mine! The Dad in the pics is my uncle. I'm sure some of you will see the resemblance. My son Max is a Stapley through and through. These pictures were taken at a wedding in between the ceremony and wedding breakfast and Max was on my hip the entire time... needless to say it was quite the experience. I think we got some sweet shots though. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the first and think it needs to be a 30x40 canvas in their entry way:) Hope you like them!

I went to a photography workshop in San Diego this last weekend and it was incredible! We went non stop from the time we woke up bright and early until two in the morning for three straight days. I learned more than I ever thought I could. I met so many friends and had a blast. My brain hurts from squeezing so much information into it and I am exhausted. I miss everyone there but I am happy to be home... I missed my babies so much!!! Here is just a quick one... we had AMAZING models to work with and I just thought these two were soooo cute! Ok... So I am way behind on this blog. I have just been editing my head off til the wee hours of the morning trying to make my two week mark for everyone, plus doing sessions like every day and trying to my a good mom and wife. CRAZY!!! To all of those that have called and emailed me recently... I will get back to you very soon! April is full and a lot of May so to those of you that want Spring and Summer pics call soon! Of course I will squeeze newborns in whenever I can. I shot outside yesterday and it felt so GOOD! I am so an outdoor person... the winters in Utah kill me. I am born for the beach I think.... oh just think of beach pictures... Aahhh! Some day maybe?? I will post the pics when I get caught up... hopefully soon! Thanks to everyone for their patients.

Aren't these two just adorable! Sophie had so much personality and the cutest hair you have ever seen. Rubie had a mind of her own too:) Notice, the shots are mostly of the upper half of her body. She just did not want to bend those little legs to get them curled up. I always love the close ups anyway! Especially hers because of those eyes. At five weeks of age, she had great eye contact. I hope their Daddy likes these and this doesn't spoil the birthday surprise. I'm sure these two just have daddy wrapped around their finger! They are just too cute!

I must say I am loving this time of year. I feel like this winter was soooo LONG and I am so happy the sun is starting to shine. We have played outside everyday this week. I am so excited to start shooting outdoors again! I wanted to post some pics that scream spring and I think you can't get more springy than these. Isn't Halle a doll? She is one of my favorite little girls to photography along with my Sophie of course:) Halle's Mom said she wanted vibrant so that is what I gave her. Hope they are not too much. I don't know what I'm doing with the black border thing... just in a change it up mood tonight. I wanted to also tell everyone that I have been having trouble with my email. I have had three people tell me in the last week that they have been trying to email me and they haven't come through:( So please call me if you haven't heard back from me. Also, I will be changing my prices the end of April so if you want the pricing that is on my website now, please schedule as soon as you can. I have just a few openings left in April. I can't believe how many newborn sessions I have had lately. It is crazy and they just keep coming. I LOVE it! Newborns are so much fun...I am so lucky that I get to hold and cuddle these little sweeties. Mckayla was such a doll and her parents were so sweet! They were so in love with their little girl and so happy to be parents. It is amazing how much work newborns are, but you just can't imagine loving anything more! Haven't posted any of my own lately so I thought I would put a couple up on here and have you help me decide which ones to put in their room. I was so happy to find this vintage firetruck hat! My Mom always makes fun of me because everywhere I go all I can think about is how a newborn would fit on something or how cute it would be for a little girl or boy to wear this or that, etc. I'm obsessed!!! I can never shop like a normal person ever again. I can't watch TV either becasue I sit there and crop peoples heads how I would in a picture and wonder how they are doing their lighting. I stare at peoples eyes to see where the catch lights are coming from. Basicaly, I eat, drink and sleep photography. It is kind of rediculous! with these kids!!! They were a photographers dream...not only did they listen but they had all their own moves. They were like professional models! And the baby!!! He was sooooooo good! I was seriously in heaven the whole session...there are so many pictures, I don't know how their Mom is ever going to decide which ones to frame. She seriously needs to get these kids in modeling! The basket one, I couldn't decide which one I liked best so I had to post a couple...what do you think?

This is the third time I have taken Ava's pictures. Newborn, six months, and now one year. Time flys!! Ava is so adorable! She is just so girly...something that I am not used to with all the cars, trucks and balls stacked to the ceiling at my house:) I loved how she wanted to hold her baby and feed her a bottle. I just could not resist snapping a shot with that baby doll. It was used to distract Ava to stay on the chair but I just thought it showed her little feminine personality so well. "The Cake Smash" pics are always so much fun! It's hard to take the pictures because we are usually all laughing so hard. This pettiskirt was also to die for...I for sure need to invest in one of these. I'm going to post a lot becuase they allready have their pictures. I won't be spoiling the surprise.

This little guy was allready six weeks old. That age can sometimes be difficult, but not for Preston...he did great and I think his pictures turned out really cute. Have you ever seen such huge eyes on a baby and check out the little rolls on his side. Oh, I just love chubby babes!

Sweet little Millie was so good for her session. She loved being in her dad's hands! I was a little nervous becuase she was already three weeks old and newborns usualy do best when they are just a few days old, but she did great!

Hallie's session was so much fun! Her parents were adorable and too much fun to talk too. Maybe that is why her session lasted til 11:00 pm....or maybe it was because I could not stop taking pictures.:) Hallie's dad brought his black shirt with him to change into so when he took of his top shirt to put the black one on, I noticed there were guns strapped to him. At first I was like Ah what??? but before I could really let my mind go, Hallie's Dad explained he was a cop and was going straight to work after the session. I was like, I promise I won't hurt your baby. It was quite funny! When I was later telling Dan the story, Jackson was aparently listening, and proceeding to ask why he had "GUM" strapped to him. LOL:) Hallie is such a little angel and so lucky to have such wonderful parents...seriously some of the nicest people I have ever met. Here are just a few from her session...it is always so hard to chose which ones to put on here. Had to add the one in color. Purple is Daddy's favorite color and he even has his very own blanket that his wife made him just like this one:) Hope that is ok that I shared...I think it is too cute!

Thought this was too cute not to share. I've been playing around with new editing...this is vintage! It looks different on non calibrated moniters but printed, it is sooooo sweet. Looks great on canvas! I'm so glad it is almost Valentines! That means winter is almost over...Yeah! I am so not a winter person! Especially January and Februrary. I am aching to go outside and take pics. I love the studio but I am all about switching it up...plus I have tons of outside ideas that I can't wait to use. K...I'm totally blabing. I never know how to end my blog posts so I end up just going on and on. Happy Early Valentines!

Aren't these two a gorgeous couple! We had so much fun at this shoot...well I did, I think they were freezing to death. It felt weird to have two cooperative subjects, but also kind of nice for a change. I didn't even have to bark like a dog or make some sort of weird chicken noise once. LOL!! I wouldn't mind having more and more sessions like this, but I do have to say babies and kids are still my fav. They are my passion...I love capturing the innosence of a child. It felt great to be outside again! I can't wait til the weather gets warm again. Til then, feast your eyes on these two love birds.

I'm back! What an insane time of year. Running from party to party is so much fun but so exhausting. It was so much fun to spend time with all of our family and those that came from out of town. The kids had a ball. They are so off their schedules. Tonight will not be a problem staying up til midnight because lately that has been normal at the Griffiths house. I think I've answered all my emails...if you haven't heard back from me it probably means I didn't receive your email. Try again or call me any time. I'm excited for this new year. Whoa! The holidays have totally gotten a hold of me and I have neglected my posting. I finaly have two seconds this morning that I should be wrapping presents or cleaning my house, but no.....I have to post these pics. I can't wait any longer. This shoot was sooooo fun! I could barely look through my camera becuase we were laughing so hard. Sophie has the cutest personality and it shows in these pics. I think she is finaly used to all the flashing lights and studio stuff. She is the closest thing I have to a little daughter (I would claim her any day!) so I get to have her as my model every time I want to try girly things. We thought she was sick of the camera but oh no...she was just getting started. I loved every second of this session! I hope these pictures bring a smile to your face, especialy Sophie's Aunt Susan. You are in our thoughts and prayers. A very Merry Christmas Season to you all!

On a personal note

For the most part, I try to keep this blog pretty professional, but after many requests, I had to post some personal pics. Somebody asked me where the pictures were of my husband on my website/blog. I have a pic of me and tons of my kids but I didn't even realize I didn't have any of my hubby. He is so supportive to me and my business would not be what it is today without him. I love and appreciate him so much and thought you should all see the man behind the scenes.

Dan's work party was last night at the Grand America. His company rented a tux for him and I got to buy a new dress. It was so fun to get all dressed up and have a night on the town. We are used to running around with our heads cut off in jeans and hoodies. My mom watched the kids so when we dropped them off, of corse she had to take tons of pictures. (thanks mom) I felt like I was back in high school going to the Prom. We had a blast!

This little boy is so precious. He made my heart melt. He was so cooperative and sweet and so were his parents. Even though Andrew was just days old when we did these pics and I'm sure they were exhausted (as all new parents are), they were just glowing. You could tell how happy and proud they were....so in love with their little miracle. I hope you enjoy these pics as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Oh my gosh! I LOVE taking pictures at this age. There are so many fun, cute things you can do.....but most of all, I love those close up shots of their darling little faces. This little guy was so much fun and he had the cutest hats that he did not want to wear. Look at those boots. Where were those when my babies were younger. I swear things just get cuter and cuter. Hazel was only three days old when I took her pictures. She was soooo tiny. Only 5 lbs. I can't believe babies come so small...I'm used to eight and a half pounds and I thought that was pretty tiny. All these newborns are making me want another little one. They are just so precious. Lincoln, her older brother, has the biggest most beautiful eyes as you can see....and look at those lashes. I wish I could have just three of those.

Jaxson is a photographer's dream! He tried so hard to open his eyes but he was just too pooped...we could basicaly do whatever we wanted with him and he went right along with it. He was just too tired to fight us. He was such a little angel. I thouroughly enjoyed every second of his session. I have been doing so many outdoor sessions, it felt good to be back inside where I can actualy control the light.

These girls came PREPARED! I couldn't believe all the cute stuff they had and ofcorse they had to have the hats and tutus from Sophie's Style. I loved taking their pictures because their Mom and cousin were in the background laughing and oooohing and aaaahing over how cute they looked. And did they ever look so CUTE!
